Eric Whitacre Minnesota High School Honors Choir
An incredible amount of excitement is building throughout the state of Minnesota for the upcoming Eric Whitacre residency March 20-22, 2009! The weekend of musical activities will feature the 160-voice Minnesota High School Honors Choir, recently selected from 400 student applicants who were personally screened in rigorous statewide auditions held in the fall of 2008. Joining the Honors Choir will be several of the world’s pre-eminent professional and collegiate choral ensembles, VocalEssence Chorus and Ensemble Singers, and The St. Olaf Choir. Honors Choir students will have the opportunity of directly working with renowned choral conductors Sigrid Johnson, Philip Brunelle, Anton Armstrong, and of course choral composer and director Eric Whitacre, one of the best known choral composers in the world today.
