Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Class: Bach Mass in B minor

Wednesday, April 6, 2011 from 10 to 11:30 am

Join Maestro Philip Brunelle as he introduces OLLI members to the unique musical/visual experience of the VocalEssence performance of Bach’s Mass in B minor.  Then, savor the majestic  beauty of this great work at St. Olaf Catholic Church, as you have never experienced it before, with a simultaneous screening of German director Bastian Cleve’s film The Sound of Eternity, a lavish visual interpretation of Bach’s magnum opus, constructed of 27 short dialogue-free films that correspond to the 27-part musical structure of the Mass.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a membership-based community of older adults in the Twin Cities metropolitan area who love learning and enjoy spending time with like-minded individuals.

To register for the course, membership in OLLI is required.  Contact http://www.cce.umn.edu/olli/ for more information.  Concert tickets must be purchased separately through http://www.vocalessence.org/b_minor_mass or at 612.371.5656. Course participants receive $5 off their concert tickets.
