Katrina Vander Kooi joined VocalEssence in 2008 and is the Director of Development.  She is responsible for managing individual and institutional giving, special events, the VocalEssence Young Singers Group, and the Development Committee.  Before coming to VocalEssence, she taught vocal and choral music in public school settings for four years.  Recently, Katrina served as Minnesota membership chair for the American Choral Directors Association, and is also an active member of the VoiceCare Network.  In 2002, she worked for the successful World Choral Symposium, which held its 6th Conference in the Twin Cities.  Katrina graduated from St. Olaf College in 2004 with a B.A. in Vocal Music Education with distinction, and is currently working on her Masters in Nonprofit Management at Hamline University.  She is an active collaborative pianist for singers and choirs.
