Minnesota High School Honors Choir

Residency Weekend
March 20-22, 2009 

The weekend begins on Friday, March 20, with student registration check-in beginning at 11:00 am located at Central Lutheran Church, (333 South 12th Street) in downtown Minneapolis.  First rehearsal will begin at 12:15 pm and will be scheduled throughout the next two days, culminating with the exciting and historic Sunday afternoon concert performance.  Honors Choir students will receive a complete and detailed weekend schedule along with housing assignments and driving directions to all weekend venues in early March.

Meal service will be provided by the in-house catering staff of Central Lutheran Church (Friday and Saturday) and the Minneapolis Convention Center (Sunday).  Lodging has been arranged for the students at the Double Tree Suites Hotel (1101 LaSalle Avenue) in downtown Minneapolis.  Special Saturday evening entertainment has been contracted with Inpulse, a male a cappella group that is certain to delight and entertain!

Evening entertainment will be provided on Saturday evening by InPulse.  Check out their website to meet the band and preview some of their music.

ACDA Members-Only Event

Through co-sponsorship with ACDA of Minnesota, a free workshop experience has been arranged for Minnesota choral directors to attend a session with Eric Whitacre and librettist Charles Anthony Silvestri on Saturday, March 21 from 1:30-5:00pm.

Schedule:
1:30 - 2:30pm, Directors session with Eric Whitacre & Chalres Anthony Silvestri
2:45 - 4:30pm, observe MHSHC rehearsal
4:30 - 5:00pm, light reception, sponsored by JW Pepper of Minneapolis

All Saturday afternoon events will be located at Central Lutheran Church.    Register online.
