“(We’re) honored — and thrilled — to be before an audience with the Rolling Stones,” VocalEssence founder and artistic director Philip Brunelle said in a news release. “Could it get any better than this?”

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers are inviting local choruses to perform during each stop of the band’s 15-city summer tour. A California State Long Beach choir joined the Stones on the tour opener Sunday, backing them up the first song of the encore, “You Can’t Always Get What You Want.”

Brunelle added that he shares a birth month and year — July 1943 — with lead singer Mick Jagger: “Maybe we’ll have an early celebration on stage?”

Tickets for the TCF Bank show are $395 to $65 and are on sale through axs.com. The tour’s promoter told Billboard the dates are 90 percent sold and that “the grosses alone are already through the roof … it’s a blowout tour financially.” — Ross Raihala
