Why Volunteer

“On the national level, 60.8 million or 26.2 percent of Americans age 16 and older volunteered through organizations in 2007,” according to the Volunteering in America report released by the Corporation for National and Community Service, and Minneapolis-St. Paul is ranked number one among large cities with a 39.3 % volunteer rate!

Make your time valuable: In a typical week, volunteers spend approximately 15 hours watching television, compared to 23 hours for non-volunteers. Nearly 61 million Americans volunteered in their communities in 2007 giving 8.1 billion hours of service worth more than $158 billion to America’s communities!
