Gather your family and friends together for a harmonious celebration of all things Thanksgiving! Our very special guest Garrison Keillor joins VocalEssence for this spirited concert. We’ll provide the perfect mixture of ingredients — music, memories, and a monologue — but leave the cooking to you!

 Gratitude, Gravy & Garrison will feature a cornucopia of choral delights sung by the 125-voice VocalEssence Chorus & Ensemble Singers. Expect familiar songs and hymns with comical new lyrics by Keillor, written expressly for the occasion. Two world premieres by Los Angeles-based composer Matthew Brown will be unveiled, “Sole Watchman of the Flying Stars,” based on a poem by John Berryman, and “Table Grace,” with lyrics by Garrison Keillor.

 Jazz vocalist Jearlyn Steele and pianist Rich Dworsky, leader of A Prairie Home Companion’s house band, will add their talents to the musical mélange. And of course no evening with Garrison Keillor would be complete without one of his signature monologues.

Set out the turkey to thaw on Tuesday night and join Garrison Keillor, Philip Brunelle & VocalEssence to celebrate a home-style Thanksgiving!
