2018 VocalEssence ¡Cantaré! 10th Anniversary Concert Podcast

Hear our community come together as more than 500 students join VocalEssence to celebrate Mexico through song at the VocalEssence ¡Cantaré! 10th Anniversary Concert. The culmination of a year-long composer-in-residence program, this bilingual concert includes premieres and an audience sing-along that will leave you with a renewed hope that music can change the world. In 2017-2018, students met with acclaimed composers Alma Jimena Contreras Cortés (for elementary students) and Bernardo Feldman (for high school students) over three visits, for a total of four weeks between October and May, to collaborate and compose new choral pieces; the final works premiered at the Ordway Music Theater in Saint Paul, MN on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
