VocalEssence COVID Protocols

Updated 9/10/2021

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic as it evolves and adhering to all health and safety recommendations put forth by the Minnesota Department of Health, as well as any health and safety protocols in place at our concert venues. These protocols are subject to change based on changing conditions. Please continue to check back for updates. If you have any questions, contact VocalEssence at info@vocalessence.org.

These protocols will be in place at any venues that have not specified their protocols, and we will enforce our policy or any stronger policy that is put in place by a venue. See below for each venue’s specific safety protocols. Please check back for updates.

Proof of Vaccination or Negative COVID-19 PCR Test Required for Entry

We require all guests to present proof of either full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 PCR test result taken within 72 hours prior to attending a VocalEssence concert or event.

Being fully vaccinated means completing your final dose of a COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before the performance date. Accepted proof of vaccination includes presenting a physical copy of your vaccination card and accompanying ID or using a smartphone to display a digital photo of your vaccination card and an accompanying ID. If you’ve lost or need a copy of your Minnesota Vaccination card you can request your immunization record at Stay Safe MN. For other states visit IIS Immunization Records by State. Additionally, your health provider may also be able to provide copies of your vaccination record when applicable.

Children and adults who are not eligible for vaccination at this time are still welcome at VocalEssence concerts and events with proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test result. If you are providing proof of a negative test, the test must be taken within 72 hours prior to entry. Accepted forms of proof of negative test results includes presenting a physical copy of test results and accompanying ID or a using a smartphone to display a digital photo of your test results and an accompanying ID. Free testing locations (and at home kits) are available statewide. To order a kit or find a site near you visit the Minnesota testing site directory for more details.

Mask Requirement

All guests and staff will be required to wear masks inside the venue, except while eating or drinking. This follows the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s recent recommendation that everyone should wear a mask indoors regardless of vaccination status.

Singer Protocols

In light of the continuing pandemic and variant risks, VocalEssence will continue to implement policies to help contain the spread of COVID-19 and protect the health of our artists and community. At this time, all artists will continue to rehearse and perform with masks. We will also implement physical distancing of 2 feet between artists and build in a short air exchange break for every hour of rehearsal in a single space.

For the 2021-2022 season, all singers and guest artists will either need to provide documentation of vaccination for COVID-19 or submit to additional precautionary measures. Artists who have not been vaccinated will be required to submit weekly negative PCR test results for COVID-19 prior to attending any VocalEssence activities. Additional safety precautions as deemed necessary by VocalEssence staff may also be required at any time.

All artists are required to stay home from VocalEssence events if they are symptomatic of COVID-19 or learn of exposure to the virus until they have received a negative test result and/or are cleared by VocalEssence staff to participate. This policy is subject to additions and revisions throughout the year by VocalEssence staff in response to the changing nature of the pandemic and on an event-by-event basis.
