This January\, in a kick-off event leading up to Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium\, the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers will perform a 20 minute set on Nicollet Mall before Idina Menzel\, Tony Award-Winner and the voice of Elsa in the Disney blockbuster Frozen\, takes the stage. \nPlease join us on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis to sing along to a medley of football rousers\, and other Minnesota-themed songs as we usher in Super Bowl LII. Make sure to bundle up! \nThe performance on Friday\, January 26\, 2018 will kick off a 10-day series of free concerts in downtown Minneapolis that are part of a flood of activity surrounding the U.S. Bank Stadium-hosted Super Bowl. DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Classical Minnesota Public Radio\, you are invited to a free concert Thursday\, July 14\, 2016 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis. Tesfa Wondemagegnehu\, Classical MPR manager of choral initiatives\, and our own G. Phillip Shoultz\, III\, associate conductor\, will lead singers in a program featuring special guests Fred Steele\, JD Steele and Dessa. The event will last approximately one hour and consist largely of music\, interspersed with brief inspirational and meditative readings. Run concurrently with a community sing in Dallas\, TX\, the concert will feature a moment when attendees at both events join together in song. \n\n5-7 pm: Come early to rehearse and sing with the community choir. Join the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and guest artist Don Shelby as Mark Twain on the historic Minnesota Centennial Showboat for a celebration of the river. Kellogg Blvd. is closed between Market and Wabasha streets\, and southbound Wabasha Street Bridge (from Kellogg to Fillmore Ave.) is closed.
