Event: Feeding Our Souls: The Essence of Juneteenth Joy

Upon hearing the news of the Emancipation Proclamation, African Americans celebrated by singing songs of worship, dancing, and eating good food. Come to Jubilee where local chefs join Kevin Lindsey to talk about the events that shaped their culinary journeys, and renowned Associate Artistic Director G. Phillip Shoultz will speak to the importance of music in history, in community, and in our lives.
Guests will enjoy songs from VocalEssence that stir the soul, and delicious tasting menus from the chefs we got to know on stage, who will share recipes and flavors from throughout the African diaspora.
