From Poulenc to Berlioz: VocalEssence & St. Olaf
Perform Musique de France

Class Session: Thursday, October 16, 2:15-3:45 pm, Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave, Minneapolis

Musique de France Concert: Friday, October 17, 8:00 pm, Cathedral of St. Paul, 239 Selby Ave, St. Paul

The VocalEssence Chorus, Ensemble Singers, and special guests The St. Olaf Choir and tenor Dan Dressen perform an all-French program at the Cathedral of St. Paul. The program will feature the lyrical music of Poulenc, Villete, Daniel-Lesur, and Duruflé, and Berlioz's Te Deum, a monumental work requiring a full orchestra with 12 harps. Join Alice Hanson, professor of music at St. Olaf College, for a pre-concert session to bring greater understanding and appreciation of the music to be performed.

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) is a membership-based community of older adults in the Twin Cities metropolitan area who love learning and enjoy spending time with like-minded individuals.  To register for the course, membership in OLLI is required.  Contact http://www.cce.umn.edu/olli/ for more information.  Concert tickets must be purchased separately through www.vocalessence.org/france or at 612-371-5656. Course participants receive $5 off.
