JOINS FORCES WITH VOCALESSENCE
Local choral ensemble hosts Young People’s Chorus
of New York City®—Nov. 22
MINNEAPOLIS — OCTOBER 30, 2014 — The internationally renowned Young People’s Chorus of New York City® (YPC) is coming to the Twin Cities for a performance that is not to be missed — VocalEssence Presents: Young People’s Chorus of New York City® on Sat., Nov. 22, at Roseville Lutheran Church. The performance will be preceded by a pre-concert conversation with YPC founder and MacArthur Fellow Francisco J. Núñez at 7 p.m.
Winner of the 2011 National Arts & Humanities Youth Program Award — and frequent performers at Carnegie Hall alongside artists including Joshua Bell, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks and NEA Jazz Master Delfeayo Marsalis — YPC is a multicultural youth chorus that performs everything from classical to gospel, pop and world music.
“Taking in a performance by the Young People’s Chorus of New York City, with Francisco at the helm, is a real delight for any music lover,” said Philip Brunelle, founder and artistic director, VocalEssence. “This is a choral group that has been around for over two decades and it has not only fostered remarkable talent, but also been a serious contributor to choral music education. We’re thrilled and deeply honored to introduce the chorus to the Twin Cities.”
