Minnesota Opera and VocalEssence partnered together on a series of events surrounding their work with composer B.E. Boykin. The two organizations collaborated on a joint Osher Lifelong Learning Institute course that was held in January. Thirty Vintage Voices singers and guests along with their conductor, Robert Graham, had a fantastic time attending an open dress rehearsal which included a performance of B.E. Boykin’s opera, My Name is Florence, presented by Minnesota Opera on Thursday, January 29. Members of the VocalEssence Singers Of This Age had the opportunity to be behind the scenes with a tour of the facilities, explore opportunities for work at Minnesota Opera, learn more about Florence Price, and were given special access to observe a rehearsal of the production.
