In this time when so much seems broken or difficult, don’t we all want to feel some joy? Sometimes feeling joy can come from being the person who helps even just one person through the uncharted waters of 2020. Now is your chance.

Teachers are tired right now. They are being asked to do so many things, and they have so much love and care for their students.

Together we can make their lives just a little easier by providing them with lessons that will encourage their students to be the change they want to see in the world.

This year’s WITNESS school program is only possible because of people like you.

Because of the pandemic, VocalEssence is in a different place financially than we’ve ever been at this time of year. We’ve reduced our budget as much as possible. And we are responding to the needs of teachers like Siri by shifting to FREE virtual school programming—all of which takes more resources, new skills, and patience.

For 30 years, VocalEssence WITNESS has inspired more than 150,000 students by shining a spotlight on African American changemakers. This season, the program will ask students the question, Will You Be a Witness? As the students explore the music of social change, they will learn how it can be a source for healing and justice.

This year, the difference between what ticket sales cover and what it truly takes to bring FREE online WITNESS materials to teachers is $125,000.

The good news: There is just $55,000 left to fully fund the VocalEssence WITNESS program in 2020.

We know this may be a challenging time for you and your family. If you are able to give your contribution today, you’ll be a part of bringing the joy of music to more people.

  • $1,000 supports one video by a VocalEssence Teaching Artist
  • $500 gives classrooms access to the online Young People’s Concerts
  • $125 makes it possible to provide transportation for a VocalEssence Singers Of This Age singer to a recording session

Your gift of any size WILL bring a bright light to others like Siri, especially during these uncertain times.
